Mila Kunis has already received tons of attention regarding her 20 lb weight loss and extreme workout plan for her role in Black Swan,
particularly because she was already fairly thin.  She’s continued to keep herself in shape for Friends With Benefits and even has a
new philosophy on controlling your body image.
Now that she’s lost the weight herself, she’s changed the way she looks at body image and weight loss.  Whereas she used to accept
when certain people would say that their body type won’t allow them to lose weight, she now believes just the opposite.

“I’m a huge foodie, I love food. But when people say, ‘I can’t lose weight’, no no no, you can. Your body can do everything and anything,
you just have to want to do it.”

The 27-year-old actress did not fully realize what the human body is capable of until she watched her own petite frame become even
smaller.  Looking back, she believes that it is a good thing she was so naive about losing the weight.  She feels she was able to do it
because she went into the movie preparation with the attitude that she could do anything if she just applied herself.

Her new outlook has her believing that anyone is capable of making over their body in any way they want to if hard work and a can-do

The ever stunning Mila Kunis looked healthy and fit at the 11th Annual AFI Awards. Mila recently lost 20 pounds for her role in Black
Swan. Her mother did not approve of the drastic weight loss!

The actress went on a punishing diet and exercise regime that sent her weight plummeting to 98 pounds to play the part of a ballerina.
According to E! Online, the actress said her weight loss was so extreme it concerned her family.

“It was the most intense training I’ve ever had in my life, and probably will have for anything. I lost 20 pounds, so I went down to 95
pounds. I weigh 117 usually, like today. I looked like Gollum [from 'The Lord of the Rings'].”

Kunis’ preparation for the role was admittedly intense. She restricted herself to a 1,200-calorie-a-day diet, in addition to ballet classes
for four hours a day, seven days a week.

“My mom freaked out,” Kunis said. “She was like, ‘You have to promise me this isn’t going to affect you.’ I was like, ‘I promise it won’t,
but it might take me a little time to be OK with having a little more fat on me.’”

Kunis also admitted she hated looking at her shapeless body in the mirror.

“I could see why this industry is so f****d up, because … I would literally look at myself in the mirror and I was like, ‘Oh my God!’ I had
no shape, no boobs, no ass … all you saw was the bone. I was like, ‘This looks gross.’”

Kunis continued: “In real life, I looked disgusting, but in photographs and on film, it looked amazing.”

As soon as filming wrapped, she indulged in all her favorite meals — namely burgers and Chinese food. “It took me five months to lose
20 pounds, and it took me hours to gain it back!” she jokes.

Mila Kunis divulged that her routine required a strict diet and 5-hour workouts, 7-days per week. Curious about the true details, I did
some research and found an interview with Mary Helen Bowers, the dance instructor who trained Natalie Portman for the role.
A combination of a daily one mile swim, two hours of ballet and plenty of resistance and toning exercises comprised her training
regimen, according to US magazine. Dropping an incredible amount of weight in a short period of time coupled with training for a third
of the day is definitely unhealthy. Thankfully, the actresses gained their normal weight back after the film’s production. Now that both
Swans are back to looking and being healthy, read on to find out what they do and have done in the past to stay fit.

While snowboarding gear can look cool, the amount of calories that can be lost while doing the sport is even cooler. Mila enjoys this
activity which keeps her fit during the winter months. For someone around 120 pounds who moderately snowboards for two hours,
over 600 calories can be lost. It is a whole body exercise that works your legs, back and abs, according to the Rothman Institute
Orthopedics.  Snowboarding all day with friends can leave you a bit sore for a day or two. You can prepare for the exercise by
targeting the body’s stability muscles since balance and strength are key elements in snowboarding. Doing leg presses, seated rows,
lat pull downs, abdominal work, leg curls and calf raises can help you hit the snow stronger and prevent soreness and fatigue.

Pilates and Yoga
Mila and Natalie had lean figures before training for Black Swan with the help of some mat exercises. Mila enjoys Pilates while Natalie
is more of a yoga fan. Mila’s love for Pilates began before shooting Forgetting Sarah Marshall, a romantic comedy filmed in Hawaii that
had her wearing fitted and revealing clothing. Pilates helped her obtain the strong and lean look she desired and it changed her body
from that point on.

Natalie gets her lean look with yoga, but also gets a great mind exercise through he practice as well. While Pilates focuses on
physical conditioning first and foremost, yoga focuses on moving energy through your body and puts your mind in a meditative state.
